Newsflash to those attacking Mike Pence — all healthy marriages have boundaries – TheBlaze

I've been married 31 years and it never occurred to my hubby and I to formally set these types of boundaries. We just did it. Duhhh, that's why you get married.

But then, my dad is a pastor and my parents ALWAYS had a policy that under no circumstances would he ever meet with a woman without my mom present. This was simply to protect him from false claims of sexual harassment.  He always had an eye witness to back him up on what happened during counseling sessions.

1 Thessalonians 5 "
22Abstain from all appearance of evil."

Like it or not, a man having lunch with a woman who is not his spouse or a relative looks like he is having an affair. It just does.

It is my observation that staying away from things that LOOK evil protects us from the temptation to DO evil. Not having lunch with a man I'm not married to protects me from the bonding that grows into sexual attachment.

Our culture is so convinced that Fantasy Land is real, that life should obey their dreams, that they don't acknowledge  that men and women are designed to be sexually stimulated by each other. Any man and any woman.

Does it always happen? No. Can it be resisted? Yes. But that attraction, that hormonal stimulation is so strong it can and does happen without us even realizing it is happening.

So it is only logical that anyone who wants to protect their marriage will not have meetings with those of the opposite sex. It just is.
